Good evening! This is Principal Hettenbach from High Point Central High School with a message from the Boulevard.

Happy Teacher Appreciation Week!
It is truly an honor to serve alongside such an exceptional group of educators here at High Point Central High School. Your collective commitment, skill, and belief in our students have propelled our school into the top 10% in North Carolina for academic growth—an accomplishment that speaks volumes about the impact you make every single day.
Because of your unwavering dedication and shared sense of purpose, we have seen meaningful progress across our school: chronic absenteeism has declined, student attendance has improved, behaviors have decreased significantly, and achievement continues to rise. These are not small gains—they are the direct result of your consistency, care, and collective efficacy.
Thank you for the passion you bring, the standards you uphold, and the difference you make in the lives of our students. High Point Central is stronger because of you, and I am deeply grateful for all that you do.
Please help me in welcoming two new Coaches to our staff, HPC alumni Ahmyra Harris, who will coach Cheerleaders, and Alumni Eugene Love who will lead the Women’s Basketball program with Coach Cook assisting. We hope you are as excited as we are!

Congratulations to the Men’s Tennis Team for qualifying for the State Playoffs. Great job! We are all very proud of you!

Senior Decision Signing Day will take place on Friday, May 8th from 11:00 a.m. to 12:25 p.m. in the Aux Gym. This is an opportunity to highlight and celebrate your future plans. All seniors participating are encouraged to wear a college t-shirt or attire that represents your next step after high school.

Congratulations to Our Media Specialist Charity Meyer for being recommended for GCS Media Specialist of the year!

As May is now upon us, that means we only have 20 days of full instruction left. Have you seen your students’ grades lately. Please do so if you have not. Do you have any concerns, or needs for your student considering we are close to the finish line? Within this blog, you will find the testing schedule along with State testing tutorials offered in Biology, Math 1 Math 3, English 10. These sessions have shown dramatic growth for any students who have attended these sessions. Students enrolled in these classes should not miss opportunity.

Parent Survey
The purpose of this survey is to fulfill session law Ҥ 115C-102.9 calling for the collection and reporting of data regarding all students access to digital devices and internet access at home. Please link your Harris Teeter Vic card to High Point Central. Our number is 1084. LINKS= Dollars for HPC! The higher the link count the higher the earnings for HPC. You can link your card in the store by asking customer service or go to https://buff.ly/3OQ7V1w.

The electronics law is in effect as of January 1st.

I challenge everyone to be involved in their student’s academic progress. Please take a moment to create a Parent Assist account through Infinite Campus to monitor daily progress of your student.

Here is helpful information to assist all parents in getting a campus parent account. Here is another way as well. If you are still experiencing difficulty, please call the school. You can also download their app on an Iphone, IPad or Droid that looks like:

The Learning Hub is in session on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:30-6:00. The program offers flexible opportunities for students to receive academic and social-emotional supports, tutoring, and enrichment outside regular school hours. Learning Hubs will take place in the Media Center. • Students need to bring their ID cards • Transportation and food provided.

Parents/Guardians, as a gentle reminder, in order for a student to be checked out, he or she MUST be in Infinite Campus under contacts to do so. They also must have a valid ID. This is for the safety of your student. If you find an error, let’s work together to fix that issue so everything can run safely and smoothly.
