Good evening! This is Principal Hettenbach from High Point Central High School with a message from the Boulevard.

What a past week it has been! We celebrated at the National Honor Society Induction Ceremony, the chorus and orchestra event, Athletics awards night, and ended the week with our Capping Ceremony tradition and senior picnic. This week was certainly a reminder of all the wonderful things our students continue to do on a daily basis.

We now have a week with changes in scheduling due to exams so it is important to follow the graphic within this blog. Monday is a normal school day for all 9th-12th graders. However, Seniors will take their GCFEs and teacher made exams on this day. Tuesday and Wednesday are a normal day for all grades but with a modified schedule. If seniors have completed ALL of their exams and are on track to graduate, they do not need to attend. If seniors have not completed their exams successfully, and their grade causes them to fail, they put themself in the position of not graduating. On Thursday, we start state exams. We usually end state exams around 2:30. Students can be dismissed on state exam days only after the the entire school has finished if they have a completed permission form. There are no early dismissals on these days. Students will be held until the 4:15 bell.
Within this blog, you will find the testing schedule along with State testing tutorials offered in Biology, Math 1 Math 3, English 10. These sessions have shown dramatic growth for any students who have attended these sessions. Students enrolled in these classes should not miss opportunity.

I challenge everyone to be involved in their student’s academic progress. Please take a moment to create a Parent Assist account through Infinite Campus to monitor daily progress of your student.

Here is helpful information to assist all parents in getting a campus parent account. Here is another way as well. If you are still experiencing difficulty, please call the school. You can also download their app on an Iphone, IPad or Droid that looks like:

Parents/Guardians, as a gentle reminder, in order for a student to be checked out, he or she MUST be in Infinite Campus under contacts to do so. They also must have a valid ID. This is for the safety of your student. If you find an error, let’s work together to fix that issue so everything can run safely and smoothly.
