Principal’s Bison Bulletin for March 16th

Good evening!  This is Principal Hettenbach from High Point Central High School with a message from the Boulevard.

In just 10 days, the end of the 3rd quarter is complete. For anyone who has navigated the High School schedule, you know that there is little time left after spring break. With the various types of testing required to complete the year, it comes down to roughly 7 weeks of instruction in the 4th quarter. Please make an extra focus on your attendance, academics, attending the Learning Hub if needed.

Parents and guardians, teachers provided your students’ interim reports to them this past week. Did you not see it, ask your student. If they said they did not get it, please call the school. Thank you!

April 7th from 5-7, mark your calendar for the first ever, Block Party on the Boulevard. This is an opportunity to untie the powerful pipeline that includes Ferndale Middle, Fairview, Northwood, Oak Hill and Shadybrook! This is a no miss event!

We are still in registration season. Counselors are currently working with all students to complete their registration process.

Spring sports are now about to get underway and all coaches’ contacts have been shared as well. If your student ins interested in a sport, please make sure they are contacting the coach immediately.

The electronics law is in effect as of January 1st.

Seniors and Early Grads should have ordered their caps and gowns. Prices go up another $10 on March 1st. Please contact the front office at school with any questions if you have not and are unsure what to do.

I challenge everyone to be involved in their student’s academic progress. Please take a moment to create a Parent Assist account through Infinite Campus to monitor daily progress of your student.

Here is helpful information to assist all parents in getting a campus parent account. Here is another way as well. If you are still experiencing difficulty, please call the school. You can also download their app on an Iphone, IPad or Droid that looks like:

The Learning Hub is in session on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:30-6:00. The program offers flexible opportunities for students to receive academic and social-emotional supports, tutoring, and enrichment outside regular school hours. Learning Hubs will take place in the Media Center. • Students need to bring their ID cards • Transportation and food provided.

Parents/Guardians, as a gentle reminder, in order for a student to be checked out, he or she MUST be in Infinite Campus under contacts to do so. They also must have a valid ID. This is for the safety of your student. If you find an error, let’s work together to fix that issue so everything can run safely and smoothly.

Please link your Harris Teeter Vic card to High Point Central. Our number is 1084. LINKS= Dollars for HPC! The higher the link count the higher the earnings for HPC. You can link your card in the store by asking customer service or go to https://buff.ly/3OQ7V1w.
