Good evening! This is Principal Hettenbach from High Point Central High School with a message from the Boulevard.

The ACT test will be administered to all 11th grade students at High Point Central on Tuesday, February 24, 2026. The ACT is a state mandated test for all 11th grade students and will cover Math, English, Reading, and Science. Students should arrive to school by 9:15 A.M. to report to their ACT testing locations. They must bring their GCS laptops fully charged for testing.
To prepare for the ACT test, there are a variety of resources which students have access to for free. First, students have been invited to the HPC ACT Canvas course which provides three practice exams and helpful tips on each subject tested. Also, ACT has a practice test and many helpful hints on their official website. Students must first create a MyACT account to access these resources.
In order to receive scores and later submit them to colleges and universities, students must have a MyACT student account and connect it to our school testing window. Students were given ACT letters with individualized student codes to set up their accounts. These codes must be entered into their MyACT account no later than two days after testing to receive scores.
February 24 will be an asynchronous day for all other grades with the exception of those taking WorkKeys, CCRAA, or Extend 1 who will also need to attend school on that day. All other students will complete their work on Canvas.

We are in registration season. Counselors are currently working with all students who are enrolled in English this semester. Once they complete that step, they will then start pulling students who are NOT enrolled in English to complete their registration process.

Congratulations to Ms. Simmonds for winning the High Point Central Teacher of the Year!

Congratulations to the swimmers who qualified for this years states meet! Jesus Morales-Rivera, Benjamin Holbrook, Jack Slocum, Bert Hurley, and Will Baker each qualified in both a relay and individual events. Swimmers beat their personal best times and are excited to run-it-back next season!

Congratulations to Austin Pacheco, Ellis Chia, Jaelyn Carlyle and Allen Dunn who competed in the 5a Wrestling Regionals. Allen and Jaelyn both advanced to the State Finals this past weekend, and Allen Dunn finished 3rd overall. Great job!

Congratulations to the following indoor track qualifiers at the state finals;
In the boys 500m dash, Jude Richardson finished 6th in the entire state. Lindsey Shaw finished 9th in the entire state in the Girls 500 meter dash, and Lindsey Shaw, Storm Jones, Laniyah Royal, and LaKiyah Ledbetter finished 8th overall in the girls 4×400 meter relay in the states.

This Thursday, we host the Man’s State’s playoff basketball tournament. We will play the winner of Tuesday night’s game between Seaforth and Dixon. Tip off time will be communicated after Tuesday evening.

Delegates from High Point Central spent the weekend at the NC YMCA Youth and Government in Raleigh. We had delegates who wrote bills, others that lobbied for other people’s bills, and one that served on the YAG Media Team. Congratulation to all of these Bison!

Spring sports are now about to get underway and all coaches’ contacts have been shared as well. If your student ins interested in a sport, please make sure they are contacting the coach immediately.
During Black History Month, we recognize and celebrate the lasting contributions and achievements of African Americans. We would like to sincerely thank the committee for their leadership and dedication in organizing events and activities that bring this important celebration to life for our school. Your efforts are greatly appreciated.

The electronics law is in effect as of January 1st.

Seniors and Early Grads should have ordered their caps and gowns. Prices go up another $10 on March 1st. Please contact the front office at school with any questions if you have not and are unsure what to do.

I challenge everyone to be involved in their student’s academic progress. Please take a moment to create a Parent Assist account through Infinite Campus to monitor daily progress of your student.

Here is helpful information to assist all parents in getting a campus parent account. Here is another way as well. If you are still experiencing difficulty, please call the school. You can also download their app on an Iphone, IPad or Droid that looks like:

The Learning Hub is in session on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:30-6:00. The program offers flexible opportunities for students to receive academic and social-emotional supports, tutoring, and enrichment outside regular school hours. Learning Hubs will take place in the Media Center. • Students need to bring their ID cards • Transportation and food provided.

Parents/Guardians, as a gentle reminder, in order for a student to be checked out, he or she MUST be in Infinite Campus under contacts to do so. They also must have a valid ID. This is for the safety of your student. If you find an error, let’s work together to fix that issue so everything can run safely and smoothly.

Please link your Harris Teeter Vic card to High Point Central. Our number is 1084. LINKS= Dollars for HPC! The higher the link count the higher the earnings for HPC. You can link your card in the store by asking customer service or go to https://buff.ly/3OQ7V1w.
