Good evening! This is Principal Hettenbach from High Point Central High School with a message from the Boulevard.
In this week’s blog, I want to emphasize the hard work our staff, students, parents, guardians and community members are doing to achieve such amazing results. In just the past three years, we will share data points that reflect everyone’s hard work! Let’s keep charging!

This week is Homecoming week. Please feel free to celebrate the High Point Central Spirit on each of the upcoming days.
At High Point Central, we are a choice school for the Marine Corp JROTC program as well as the International Baccalaureate program. If you know of anyone that would like to get more information about these programs, please have them call the school at 336-819-2825. You can also visit us at the Choice Showcase at the First Horizon Coliseum in Greensboro on October 22nd, from 5:30-8.

The Learning Hub is now in session on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:30-6:00. The program offers flexible opportunities for students to receive academic and social-emotional supports, tutoring, and enrichment outside regular school hours. Learning Hubs will take place in the Media Center. • Students need to bring their ID cards • Transportation and food provided.

10th grade students will be taking the Pre-ACT on Wednesday, November 5th and should arrive on time to school, no later than 9:10, to be seated at their testing site before the test start time. They should bring a charged GCS Chromebook. Students may be checked out by parents when the entire test session is over. No student will be checked out until all testing sessions are closed.
Students in 9th, 11th and 12th grade will have an asynchronous day, with at-home assignments on November 5th. Students must log in to CANVAS, complete and submit assignments to be counted present for the day. Seniors may use the day for a college visit or service-learning experience, and they must bring verification upon return to school.

We have a couple date changes for everyone to pay attention to. First the Andrews-Central Football game has been moved from October 31st to October 30th. The Parent Engagement night has been moved from October 30th to October 28th.

Here is helpful information to assist all parents in getting a campus parent account. Here is another way as well. If you are still experiencing difficulty, please call the school. You can also download their app on an Iphone, IPad or Droid that looks like:

Parents/Guardians, as a gentle reminder, in order for a student to be checked out, he or she MUST be in Infinite Campus under contacts to do so. They also must have a valid ID. This is for the safety of your student. If you find an error, let’s work together to fix that issue so everything can run safely and smoothly.

On Tuesday, October 28th, we will hold our quarterly Gathering of the Herd event. This is an opportunity to see the many vendors we bring directly to you at the school. This includes colleges, universities, work force opportunities, and more. We also will hold our yearly Halloween festival, conduct a Chorus and band concert, provide the latest grades to you based on the 1st quarter of your student’s academics, and more.
