Good evening! This is Principal Hettenbach from High Point Central High School with a message from the Boulevard. There is so much happening this week so please take a moment and review thoroughly.

First and foremost, I hope everyone is enjoying their Memorial Day weekend. Memorial Day is a significant American holiday dedicated to honoring and remembering those who have died while serving in the U.S. Military. It’s a day for reflection, mourning, and paying tribute to their ultimate sacrifice. The holiday is observed on the last Monday of May each year. Thank you to all of you who are and have served for this country.
Wow, we have only 5 days until testing begins for underclass and the senior events step it up this week.

Early grad and graduates begin their testing Tuesday. English and science is given on Tuesday, in the Media Center, while SS and Math are given on Wednesday. Early grads and grads will then report to the main gym for our first graduation practice on Thursday. The practice is mandatory and starts at 10:45 and ends at 12:25. As shared many times prior to, these practices have been shared long in advance for the purpose of discussing this with your employer.
The following day, Friday, is the Capping Ceremony at 10am. Graduates should arrive at 9:30AM. This takes place in the main gym.
This coming Saturday is our next EOC Blitz from 10AM – 1PM. This is for Math 1, Math 3, Biology and English 10. Lunch will be served and 10 Bison Bucks will be distributed for each person who attends.

This coming Saturday, May 31st, we have our annual Bison Day, where there is a day of Golf and a Reverse Raffle held at night. You may choose to participate in just one if you are not interested in both. The event is led by the Athletic Boosters Club but any questions can be directed to our Athletic Director, Mr. Mike Cook.
Come join us on Bison day!!!!!

The Learning Hub offers flexible opportunities for students to receive academic and social-emotional supports, tutoring, and enrichment outside regular school hours. Learning Hub will occur on Tuesday and Thursday afternoon (4:30PM – 6PM ). In the Media Center. • Students need to bring their ID cards • Transportation and food provided.

I hope you have heard the amazing news! High Point Central was named the prestigious Hubert Humphrey Most Improved School at the state of the county banquet. This is a testament to the passion and perseverance of our amazing staff, the students that work hard, use resources in front of them and set high goals. The parents and guardians who advocate for their student while also supporting the school, and of course our powerful alumni and community members! If you have not seen the news segment, simply go to google and type in High Point Central Hubert Humphrey award. WFMY did a great job!

As we continue to navigate through the year, please make sure you are following our athletics clear bag policy.
