Good evening! This is Principal Hettenbach from High Point Central High School with a message from the Boulevard.
Pleased join High Point Central High School in celebrating the life and work of Martin Luther King Jr.
Martin Luther King Jr. Day, officially Birthday of Martin Luther King Jr. and often referred to shorthand as MLK Day, is a federal holiday in the United States observed on the third Monday of January each year. King was the chief spokesperson for nonviolent activism in the Civil Rights Movement, which protested racial discrimination in federal and state law and civil society. The movement led to several groundbreaking legislative reforms in the United States.
Thank you!

We are now in our last week of school with testing for the remainder of this week. If you have an exam, you are required to be at school to finish up the first semester.
Tomorrow’s Tests (Tuesday) include Math 1, Math 3, Culinary Arts, Child Development and anything that a student missed from this past Friday’s exams. All of these exams are heavily weighted so it is imperative that students attend school on the days of the exams assigned.
As it relates to any student who has to take their 2nd block or 4th block GCSFE, teacher made, or CTE exam, we will be communicating with you by Close of Business Tuesday when you are to come in.
Please make sure your student is attending school this week according to when they have a test.

Next week, we start the new semester on Tuesday. That evening, we will have our next Gathering of the Herd. This will include the opportunity to meet your new teacher, food on site, colleges and universities, community resources, athletics, work force opportunities, military branches and more! What a way to start a new semester!

Seniors and early grads, please make every effort to put some money down for your cap and gown, as Herff Jones will increase their prices as we navigate through the year. Please remember to put all graduation timeline dates into your calendar, and start talking to your employers now to make sure you are off from any other obligations. See Mrs. Hughes, Mrs. Stafford in the Main Office or Mrs. Nwabueze if you have questions about graduation.

I hope you have heard the amazing news! High Point Central was named the prestigious Hubert Humphrey Most Improved School at the state of the county banquet. This is a testament to the passion and perseverance of our amazing staff, the students that work hard, use resources in front of them and set high goals. The parents and guardians who advocate for their student while also supporting the school, and of course our powerful alumni and community members! If you have not seen the news segment, simply go to google and type in High Point Central Hubert Humphrey award. WFMY did a great job!

As we continue to navigate through the year, please make sure you are following our athletics clear bag policy.
