Good evening! This is Principal Hettenbach from High Point Central High School with a message from the Boulevard. With another remote day of teaching and learning confirmed for tomorrow, Monday, January 13th, I must emphasize again that we start exams on Wednesday. Wednesday and Thursday are full days for students regardless if they met the criteria for an exam exemption. Starting Friday are State CTE/End of Course exams. All of these exams are heavily weighted on your final grade, your grade that becomes permanent on your High School transcript and will impact your GPA good or bad. Please pay attention to your teachers’ canvas pages to find out when you are to attend their live sessions tomorrow. If you are having difficulty with that, please contact your grade level administration immediately. If you are in a State EOC class, there will be teachers from Biology, English 10, Math 1 and Math 3 still ready to support you for your upcoming exam. That will be tomorrow, Monday, from 4:00to 5:30. Attending gets you a free ticket into Tuesday nights game along with 15 Bison Bucks! The link is below:

Seniors and early grads, please make every effort to put some money down for your cap and gown, as Herff Jones will increase their prices as we navigate through the year. Please remember to put all graduation timeline dates into your calendar, and start talking to your employers now to make sure you are off from any other obligations. See Mrs. Hughes, Mrs. Stafford in the Main Office or Mrs. Nwabueze if you have questions about graduation.

Any students who receive OSS will not be able to attend any extracurricular events through the winter season. Students who receive ISS(RS) will not be able to attend any events for that week. Additional ISS incidents will result in loss of privileges for the winter season.

I hope you have heard the amazing news! High Point Central was named the prestigious Hubert Humphrey Most Improved School at the state of the county banquet. This is a testament to the passion and perseverance of our amazing staff, the students that work hard, use resources in front of them and set high goals. The parents and guardians who advocate for their student while also supporting the school, and of course our powerful alumni and community members! If you have not seen the news segment, simply go to google and type in High Point Central Hubert Humphrey award. WFMY did a great job!

As we continue to navigate through the year, please make sure you are following our athletics clear bag policy.
