Good evening! This is Principal Hettenbach from High Point Central High School with a message from the Boulevard.
I hope each and every one of you enjoyed your break as best possible. We return tomorrow, Monday, with only 7 days left before exams start. With such a short time left, I can not emphasize enough the importance of finishing strong. This starts with great attendance, completing all work assignments and attending the Learning Hub for any assistance as well as attending any Saturday blitzes if you are in a State End of Course exam. This coming Saturday, were do have only 1 of 2 EOC preparation blitzes left.
Our last two EOC state exam blitzes for students in the area of Biology, English 10, Math 1 and Math 3 are this coming Saturday, January 11th and January 18th from 10-1 (Saturday) Students will be fed and can earn Bison Bucks for simply attending. Have your student talk to their teacher for more information.

Seniors and early grads, please make every effort to put some money down for your cap and gown, as Herff Jones will increase their prices as we navigate through the year. Please remember to put all graduation timeline dates into your calendar, and start talking to your employers now to make sure you are off from any other obligations. The Learning Hub offers flexible opportunities for students to receive academic and social-emotional supports, tutoring, and enrichment outside regular school hours. Learning Hub will occur on Tuesday and Thursday afternoon (4:30PM – 6PM ). In the Media Center. • Students need to bring their ID cards • Transportation and food provided.
Any students who receive OSS will not be able to attend any extracurricular events through the winter season. Students who receive ISS(RS) will not be able to attend any events for that week. Additional ISS incidents will result in loss of privileges for the winter season.

This is a testament to the passion and perseverance of our amazing staff, the students that work hard, use resources in front of them and set high goals. The Technology and Data Institute (TDI) in partnership with Guilford County Schools (GCS) and Lumos is offering a FREE pilot service for the next 2+ years to connect eligible students to digital classroom tools while at home, riding the school bus, and within the community. Eligible students must attend one of four schools – Fairview Elementary, Penn-Griffin School for the Arts, Ferndale Middle School, or High Point Central – and reside in a neighborhood served by Lumos Fiber. The pilot program will provide free service through June 2026 and then will seek to secure federal or state funding to continue the program beyond that date.
