Good evening! This is Principal Hettenbach from High Point Central High School with a message from the Boulevard. It’s go time! Tomorrow is the first day of school at High Point Central High School. The day starts at 9:15 and ends at 4:15. Students should be inside the building no later than 9:10 in order to get to class on time.
Please pay attention to basic dress code expectations, cell phone policy, free internet opportunity from Lumos, and more!
This week, days 1-3, counselors will be focused on students who do not have a schedule, have blocks without a class, or in class that has already been taken or out of sequence. Days 4 and 5 will be focused on student schedule change requests. These forms can be found in the front office. Thank you for your patience as counselors navigate through this week taking care of all items related to scheduling.
As we have started our fall athletic season, please make sure you are following our clear bag policy.

As a reminder, if you are new to our school, we send an all call message in English every Sunday during the school year at 6:30, followed by Spanish at 7:00. If you do not want to listen to one of the two messages, a simple hang up will be sufficient. These messages will also be sent to your cell phone as a text link as well as to your e-mail address you may have on file. If you do not receive these messages on those platforms but wish to do so, please let us know.

Sign Up Today for Free High-Speed Internet for 2+ years
The Technology and Data Institute (TDI) in partnership with Guilford County Schools (GCS) and Lumos is offering a FREE pilot service for the next 2+ years to connect eligible students to digital classroom tools while at home, riding the school bus, and within the community. Eligible students must attend one of four schools – Fairview Elementary, Penn-Griffin School for the Arts, Ferndale Middle School, or High Point Central – and reside in a neighborhood served by Lumos Fiber. The pilot program will provide free service through June 2026 and then will seek to secure federal or state funding to continue the program beyond that date.
As we have all learned, having internet access to classroom tools (now) and job opportunities and health services (lifelong) are fundamental to success in today’s classroom and society.
This program is truly as good as it sounds with NO added costs or strings attached. You will be contacted shortly by school officials to describe program benefits, including:
Flexible, no-cost access to high-speed home internet through June 2026.Automatic connection for your student’s Chromebook or iPad via a wireless service called “eduroam.”Roaming access to modern learning tools at school, home, on selected school buses and community sites throughout Guilford County, and at thousands more locations nationwide!
Sign up today!
Lumos, the internet service provider, will work with you to schedule service installation in your home, free of charge, and without commitment.
You must sign up for the free service at lumosfiber.com/TDIGuilford or call Lumos at 844-403-8182.
Please see additional information in the attached flyer.
