Principal’s Bison Bulletin for the first week of Fall testing

A big week is in front of us.

We start testing on Wednesday. Teacher made exams, CTE exams, and GCS Final Exams will be administered. These are full days of school for ALL students. Please see the scheduling within this blog.

On Friday, we start State exams. We typically finish no later then 2:30. Students will receive a meal and may be dismissed from school but are not allowed to stay on campus unless attending an exam prep session or needing transportation at 4:15. Those needing transportation at 4:15. All students will remain under the supervision of staff at all times.

I will be making a call before each day of testing to remind all parents to speak to their students about the importance of these exams and to be sure they are present on these days..

Please help us out by reviewing the schedules below. These exams are weighted very heavy and can dramatically lower your student’s overall grade even to the level of failing.

How can parents and guardians assist us? Check PowerSchool for your student’s grades. Ask them when their exam schedule is and make sure they are getting good nights of rest. Compare what they share with you to the exam schedules listed below. Non state exams will be on Wednesday and Thursday, January 10th and 11th. These are full days of school. Friday, January 12th through Friday, January 19th are state exams. These exam days are usually over around 2:30 and students will be dismissed unless parents request for their student to stay on campus, attend EOC prep sessions or needing transportation home at 4:15.

We will have very specific ENG 1o, Math 1, Math 3, and Biology prep every day on Tuesday, January 16th, Wednesday, January 17th, and Thursday, January 18th, Additionally, the Saturday Blitz that occurs this Saturday, January 13th in the Media Center at 10AM/

We have only one more EOC exam blitz this coming Saturday, January 13th from 10AM to 1PM in the media center. This is for Math 1, Math 3, Biology and English 10. This exam weight is a large portion of the overall grade at 20%. Please e-mail your student’s teacher if more information is needed.

We will also have EOC prep sessions Thursday after school in the Learning Hub, and continuing on Tuesday, January 15th and Thursday, January 18th.

Students need to bring their ID cards

No Cell phones allowed. Students must turn their cell phone in. They will be visible but locked in a safety locker.
