This coming Friday is our Pink Game celebrating breast cancer survivors and raising money towards a cure! Come on out and wear your pink!
Why the Bison Stand as One:
Cancer has taken too many too soon. While breast cancer is the second leading cause of death among women worldwide, its impact does not discriminate based on sex, gender, race, religion, orientation, or age. Friends, families, and loved ones are forever changed when someone we care for is diagnosed with cancer. There is no cure for this deadly disease, and we need to focus on early detection.
It is our hope that what we do on this day will lead to one less life lost to Breast Cancer. We know firsthand the pain of losing loved ones to cancer. The Bison believe that it takes a village to beat the odds and fight this disease. For that reason, we choose to do what we can and to stand as one with every person whose life has been affected by breast cancer.
The 4th Annual Bison Pink Game will be Friday, February 3 at @6:30 pm. The Bison will be raising money for a cure by selling Bison paraphernalia, raffles, shooting competitions, and accepting donations. All money raised will go to support the efforts of the Hayworth Cancer Center, located minutes away, here in High Point. Survivors will be recognized at halftime of the girls’ varsity game, while activities to raise money will be held during halftime of the boys’ varsity game, tip-off at 8pm.
To stay in the know about The Pink Game and the rest of our season, follow the Women’s Bison basketball team on Instagram @HPCWBB. To be recognized during the game or have inquiries, please contact Coach Shay Hayes, hayesd5@gcsnc.com.

We are also still in need of volunteers for our Adopt-A-Room. Help us create a partnership between you and a staff member at HPC. This is not a huge time or financial commitment, but an opportunity to help staff spruce up their room. We will put you directly in contact with a staff member to communicate and build a partnership. Are you not too sure how you can help? We have had a great turnout so far, but we need more volunteers! Simply e-mail our PTO president at cecewas@aol.com.

Juniors or Seniors with a GPA of 2.5 or higher. If you are interested in the GAP program, please see Mr. Lowe in room 221C. The deadline for applications is Jan 31st. This apprenticeship program is a great opportunity for all students who qualify.

We continue to grow our Learning Hub. This is a wonderful opportunity to get some quiet time working on your academics, making up assignments, getting assistance from the adults who are helping. A reminder that it is every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 4:30-6:00. The attendance continues to climb and that is a clear sign that we have so many students who understand we have supports in place right here on campus when in need.
