Bison Bulletin for the week of January 9

This is Mr. Hettenbach with a simple greeting from the Boulevard.

We now have 6 regular instructional days until we start teacher and GCS made exams, followed by state exams. It is imperative that all students and parents and guardians are completely aware of their student’s current grades. Please do not get caught off guard. If you are unsure, please reach out to your student’s teachers immediately. If the PowerSchool grade monitoring directions below are not helping, please contact us. Thank you.

The final exam schedule is listed below in the calendar dates. Students should be present and give their best effort so that their final grade is not impacted negatively. More specifics regarding the final exam will be communicated this week.

PTO and Bison Athletics Booster meeting starts at 6PM this Monday in the Media Center. Do you want to be a part of the excitement here on the Boulevard? Please join us!

On Thursday, January 12th, HPC will be hosting a Community and Family engagement night.  High Point Central clubs will be present for students’ parents to receive information about joining and meeting times of the positive uplifting activities for students to participate in on our campus.   Our college advisor Ms. Trinity will give a presentation on FAFSA, and we will also have a presentation on the importance of Mental Health and the resources available to our community.  The event starts at 4:30 pm in the Bison Cafeteria.

We are also still in need of volunteers for our Adopt-A-Room.    Help us create a partnership between you and a staff member at HPC. This is not a huge time or financial commitment, but an opportunity to help staff spruce up their room.  We will put you directly in contact with a staff member to communicate and build a partnership. Are you not too sure how you can help? We have had a great turnout so far, but we need more volunteers! Simply e-mail our PTO president at cecewas@aol.com.

Juniors or Seniors with a GPA of 2.5 or higher. If you are interested in the GAP program, please see Mr. Lowe in room 221C. The deadline for applications is Jan 31st. This apprenticeship program is a great opportunity for all students who qualify.

Do you want to be in the know of your student’s attendance and academics at all times? Get a PowerSchool app downloaded, create an account and more!

We continue to grow our Learning Hub. This is a wonderful opportunity to get some quiet time working on your academics, making up assignments, getting assistance from the adults who are helping. A reminder that it is every Tuesday and Thursday from 4:30-6:00. The attendance continues to climb and that is a clear sign that we have so many students who understand we have supports in place right here on campus when in need.
