Bison Bulletin for August 7

This is Mr. Hettenbach with a simple greeting from the Boulevard. I’m keeping this week’s blog short as I need everyone to focus on a few dates. As a gentle reminder, you will receive a repeated message in Spanish from Mr. Gomez to assist in getting the communications out to more stakeholders. The wonderful thing about receiving communications out electronically, is that you can simply hang up or delete. Thank you for understanding the power behind pushing out communications to more stakeholders. Thursday, August 25th is the Freshman Orientation from 8:30AM-12:30. There will be water and a snack provided. This is for students only. From 12:30-2:30, we will hold a club carnival to all freshmen who attend the morning orientation. That evening, from 6pm to 7:30pm, we will hold a freshman parent orientation in the auditorium.

Fall Athletics Mandatory Fair Play meeting will be held this Tuesday at 6PM in the main gym. 4PM are Fall Athletics Pictures, and 7PM is for the Bison Club Meeting.

Open House is from 5:30PM – 7PM on August 22nd and starts in the auditorium.

HPC Students! Reminder to record dates & minutes read on your reading log for the Summer Break Reading Challenge 2022

Students who read at least 900 minutes this summer will win a ticket to one of two Kersey Valley attractions!

At Kersey Valley, students can choose between a ticket for the Maize Adventure (all ages) or Spookywoods (recommended for ages 12 and up).

Minutes must be completed between June 4 and August 28, 2022. Record the dates and minutes read on the reading log link available on the HPC Media Center webpage at https://www.gcsnc.com/domain/4088

Have a parent/guardian sign to verify your reading and record the total minutes you read. Return this form to Mrs. Cadmus, school library media coordinator by September 2, 2022 to be eligible.

We need PTO volunteers! The best thing about the HPC PTO is that so may things are already in place. We just need the parents and community members to implement them. Please contact Cece Biesecker for more information.

GCS is still offering free breakfast and lunch to anyone under the age of 18 during the summer months. These meals will be available Mondays through Thursdays. Breakfast will be served 8 to 9AM. The list of all the sites can be found on the GCS website under school nutrition.

Anyone interested in playing Football must e-mail Coach Sheffield at immediately in order to play this fall!
