Bison Bulletin for August

This is Mr. Hettenbach with a simple greeting from the Boulevard. It is hard to believe that we have just a few weeks remaining until we start right back up on Monday, August 29th and our amazing staff start in just a couple of weeks on August 16th.

Before I continue, it is important for me to let you know that community communications via phone will be sent every Sunday in English at 6:30 and in Spanish at 7:00 with the assistance of Assistant Principal Gomez. Occasionally, there will be some mid week messages along with very specific Freshmen messages delivered by Assistant Principal Hagerman. Sunday messages be shared on multiple platforms so you can choose what works best for you, whether it be social media, e-mail, text, phone. Additionally, you can always reference the full messaging on our website by clicking on the Principal’s Bison Bulletin icon.

We have some few very important dates that I need your help in sharing with all Bison. Open House is from 5:30PM – 7PM on August 22nd and starts in the auditorium. Freshman Orientation is on Thursday, August 25 from 8:30-12:30 for all Freshmen. All freshmen who attend will be able to participate in the “club” carnival thereafter from 12:30-2:30. Water and a snack will be provided during the morning session and we will be grilling out for the afternoon session. That evening from 6:00 to 7:30, Freshmen parents will be invited for a Freshmen Parent Orientation (students not required to attend). Please help us get out the word about Freshman Orientation as this will provide a solid foundation for our 9th graders to get a step up on the transition into High School while reducing any anxieties that may be present.

Another thank you to Tim Ilderton Dodge/Chrysler/Jeep/Ram for the ongoing use of their Pressure Washer to start getting many of our areas clean. And thank you to the HPC Football team for contributing to the pressure washing! If anyone wants a little therapy from pressure washing, let Mr. Hettenbach know.

We need PTO volunteers! The best thing about the HPC PTO is that so may things are already in place. We just need the parents and community members to implement them. Please contact Cece Biesecker for more information.

GCS is still offering free breakfast and lunch to anyone under the age of 18 during the summer months. These meals will be available Mondays through Thursdays. Breakfast will be served 8 to 9AM. The list of all the sites can be found on the GCS website under school nutrition.

Anyone interested in playing Football must e-mail Coach Sheffield at immediately in order to play this fall!
